Today’s Choices: Career UP in Lithuania
From 8 to 13 March 2025, two youth workers from our organisation took part in the Erasmus+ training course “Today’s Choices: Career UP” in Birštonas, Lithuania, organised by the Society and Business Development Institute .
The training focused on careers, future professions, and how to support young people in making meaningful choices in a fast-changing world. Together with youth professionals from several European countries, participants explored how values, skills, and outside factors influence career paths.
During the project, they joined interactive sessions, group discussions, and practical workshops led by trainers Aistė Rutkauskienė and Vladas Polevičius. Some of the most interesting parts were the sessions on future career trends, personal values, and tools for career guidance.
The participants learned new non-formal education methods, facilitation techniques, and digital tools that can be used in youth work. They also gained new ideas on how to help young people reflect on their strengths, interests, and future opportunities. All the methods used and learned were collected in this file
Besides professional learning, the mobility was also a valuable personal experience. It helped participants grow in confidence, exchange ideas with colleagues from other countries, and reflect on their own role as youth workers.
Overall, the project was a meaningful and inspiring experience, and the knowledge gained will be useful in our future work with young people.
