How did the idea for the project come to you?
I study at the University of Tartu, majoring in Political Science and International Relations. However, strangely enough, until I was 18, I had no interest in politics at all—I thought it was boring and unnecessary for me. But life changed drastically, and now I realize how important it is to understand how politics works and to participate in civil society from an early teenage age. Unfortunately, schools and youth centers often do not pay enough attention to this. No one told me how interesting and important it is either. That’s why I decided to create a project that would ultimately help young people dive deeper into the topic of active civil society.
What results (knowledge, skills, attitude) have you gained from it?
First of all, I wrote the project application completely on my own, which became a valuable experience for me and a crucial skill in the job market. Secondly, I implemented the project for participants aged 18+, while I was only 20 years old myself. Some participants were significantly older than me. Organizing events for an adult audience was a new challenge, but I believe I handled it very well!
What advice would you give to young people who want to write projects? Why is project writing so cool and important?
Go for it! Writing a project is not as difficult as it may seem at first glance. The most important thing is to have an idea that you believe in and that inspires you! Youth workers will support and guide you throughout the process. A project will not only help you develop competencies, make new connections, and gain an unforgettable experience, but it will also give others the opportunity to go through this journey with you. Just imagine—you've written an international project, and young people from all over the world come to participate. They gain unique experiences, knowledge, and friendships—all thanks to you! So, write projects, gain experience, and share it with others!
How did the idea for the project come to you?
For many years already, I was very passionate about sustainability and committed to making my life as eco-friendly as possible. Through a very close friend of mine, I found out that it is possible to write an Erasmus+ project. It immediately felt like the perfect opportunity—not only to connect with even more people who are passionate about sustainability but also to raise awareness and inspire others to embrace an eco-friendly lifestyle. A project like this is a fun way for people to collaborate, learn, and share ideas while making a real impact.
What results (knowledge, skills, attitude) have you gained from it?
Besides gaining valuable knowledge about sustainability, I developed leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. In tightly planned projects like these, balancing structure with flexibility was key—not just to get things done but to keep the energy fun and engaging. I also became a better listener, valuing different perspectives and creating space for others. But most importantly, I realized that sustainability—like leadership—is a journey. It’s not about perfection but about progress, collaboration, and mindset. This project showed me that real change happens when people work together, share knowledge, and inspire each other through action.
What advice would you give to young people who want to write projects? Why is project writing so cool and important?
Make sure your project has an impact, and that the project's goal resonates with you and your values. Most importantly, have fun! At the end of the day, the most memorable projects are those where you made new friends, made awesome memories and had lots and lots of fun.
How did the idea for the project come to you?
I believe it’s very important that the idea for a project (and the goal you want to achieve) is directly connected to something that truly matters to you. When I was thinking about what topic to choose for my project, I reflected on the social issues that concern me (or have affected me personally) and brainstormed a list of ideas. From that list, I selected the one that resonated with me the most.
What results (knowledge, skills, attitude) did you gain from it?
Writing projects is an incredible opportunity to gain international experience and develop a wide range of skills (such as communication, leadership, etc.). Personally, working on projects has taught me to be more flexible and not to panic if things don’t go according to plan! If someone wants to create a project, I would recommend surrounding themselves with like-minded people (i.e., forming a team) who are passionate about the project’s theme and understand why bringing the idea to life is so important. And of course, don’t forget to keep track of deadlines!
