SUPPORT SYSTEM
This idea was born in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic began. The team of like-minded individuals enc ountered a request from the youth, who felt the need for someone who could listen, help, and guide them on topics that mattered to them.
It is an opportunity for young people aged 13+ to have a FRIEND (mentor, advisor) who helps them adapt to our organisation, supports them, offers guidance, and communicates on topics that interest them.
WHO IS A FRIEND (MENTOR, ADVISOR)?
A friend is a young person aged 16+ who has been with our organisation for some time and has completed mentor training.
The role of the friend is to provide support, guidance, and mentorship to help the young person develop both personally and professionally.

TASKS OF A MENTOR

Share professional experience, practical knowledge, and skills that may be useful for the young person in their career development. - Inspire and motivate the young person to achieve their goals, helping them cope with difficulties and setbacks.
- Provide moral support in challenging situations, assist in overcoming stress and doubts.
- Help define career goals, develop strategies to achieve these goals, and plan a professional path.
- Assist in strengthening self-confidence, developing leadership qualities, independence, and responsibility.
- Support in analyzing options and making important decisions related to career and personal life.
Our support system is a mutually beneficial process, where the experienced mentor (friend) shares their time and knowledge, and the young person gains the opportunity to grow, learn, and reach their goals more effectively.

How long does the mentorship last?It lasts as long as the mentor and the young person agree upon. Typically, the mentorship lasts from 2 to 6 months, but it’s very individual. You can always opt out of working with your mentor by informing them first and then the organisation. -
How often should I meet with my mentor?It depends on what you and your mentor agree upon. We recommend meeting at least once every two weeks to maintain the connection. You can meet as often as you like—every day if desired. It should be based on mutual consent between the mentor and the young person. -
Who can have a mentor?Only members of our organisation (IZUM Youth Club) can request a mentor. This is one of the benefits of membership. If you want a mentor but are not yet a member, just contact us via social media.
